Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

You seem to know more about this than some Tesla people. If I changed my order back to my original order of MYLR from existing MYP order, would I go all the way back to the end of the line? My original order was Jan 16. I really screwed this up!!
Wait what did you do? You went from MYLR to MYP and now you want to go back to MYLR?

YUP!! I know. I really jacked this up. I already have a sports car. I don't need another rough ride. But that's exactly what I did. And now i'm hearing the price went
up $2000. Checking my paperwork on the MYP, it shows $56,990.

I still haven't changed my MYLR to MYP. I go back and forth in my head lol. Im supposed to pick-up the MYLR in 3 days. I did call and they told me that since my MYLR is a 52990 order they would let me switch to a MYP 55990 order so before the 1k price hike. But no idea on the time frame and I would instantly loose my LR car.

I don't have a sport car and wanted the P version from the beginning but went with the LR because of rebate. I would make use of the full 7500 rebate so I should try for that. Guess then I could update in a few years when HW4 is out everywhere.

And regardless of the option you choose you 'still' won't own a sports car.

Strange. They hit me with $56,990 for performance. I wonder why they offered it to you for $1000 less. I ordered my original MYLR before price increase too.
I don't know what to tell you about which to choose. You have some thinking to do. But it's going to change the date. At least it did with mine. About 2 weeks difference I think. You may wanna just stay with the MYLR. But that's me.

Ha. I've also questioned switching to the P, but figure for almost half the year I'll be throwing on some cheap 18's with snow tires with a more cushioned ride (which I also would have done on the MYLR), so got the color I wanted, spoiler...sweet looking 21's for the rest of the year, etc. for $3k more. And crossing my fingers I get it earlier than I would have gotten the MYLR.
