Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Thank you for your email. Vehicle manufacturers must apply for Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) eligibility with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and meet a number of program requirements. If all program requirements are met, the vehicle is added to the list of eligible vehicles on our website. At this time, Tesla has not applied.

After $250 rebate, mostly same cost.
Benefit are installation rebate of up to $1500 covered and it is approved by county officer where you are living so protected by any future fire hazard (Hopefully none of us run through).
Every weeknight & all weekends, you will get reduced (~ $0.02) rate from provider to use off-peak charging schedule with Juicebox and some other chargers but not with Tesla charger.
I wonder how many folks get a Juicebox or other eligible charger, get it installed, then swap in a Tesla charger. Seems like a hassle, but I'm sure someone does that.

I went with Enel-x 40 (aka JuiceBox) with Nema 14-50 adapter outlet. (~30 mph charge)
If your House/garage is capable of 200amp panel, I would recommend hardwire version from Juicebox which can support/add up to 44 mph charge.

Mobile adapter comes with car is sufficient and can directly connected to juicebox.
I would not going through adapter hassle if someone not in NJ and not eligible for rebate.
Considering $250 charger rebate & up to $1500 from PSEG for installation.
I don't think the mobile adapter comes with the car anymore... At least when I picked mine up they said it didn't.

If I remember correctly, J1772 adapter was included during the vehicle purchase of MYLR atleast for me. I'm sure I checked that option and so didn't order separate one.

Thanks @runtohell121 for the input.

It's not unreal. It's because of our greedy electric companies. They raised the electric cost due to shortage and null the solar power credit. Starting March 2023, CA will no longer pay for NEM. In other words, any solar roof that is build March 2023 and later will not receive any credit if your solar make more electric. On the other hand, they raised electric bill at least 30%
You are misinformed about Net Metering 3, on the timeline and the prices.

can someone who is going to cancel anyways try changing configuration, specifically add wheels and change color and see what it does to delivery date? I was thinking of changing to white and add wheels or just add wheels but want to see what it does with delivery date.

It stands to reason there would be some change, though potentially to the same timeframe. If you change a material item like color, you will have to be part of the next batch for that color for your order date. As folks have reported, that may be sooner, but for a few that has been later.
