Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I agree, it's a sharp looking SUV. It's probably assembled outside of the US. When I special ordered my RX, it took a few months & was shipped from Japan. The range on the RZ is lower so you'll have to wait for their 430 mile solid state battery sport vehicles. laugh out loud

Range is utter garbage you mean...But yes, like most Lexus vehicles it's assembled in Japan (the Motomachi plant specifically) though the underlying platform is just the Subaru Solterra/Toyota bZ4X, right down to the terrible efficiency (hopefully not the wheels falling off while driving part though)

no updates yet if the vehicle has to be either delivered or delivered AND registered by March 1st in order to qualify for the $7.5 tax credit?
As already explained the last 9736 times- the government will announce battery sourcing guidelines "sometime" in march. No specific date given.

Everything currently qualified vehicle delivered before then qualifies for the full $7500.

Some vehicles will likely CONTINUE to qualify AFTER then, and the rest would likely qualify for only $3750... but nobody can tell you which ones until the guidance is issued.

They don't have the same motor, people just feel the need to justify their purchase.

The performing once has 980 motor, the long range has 990 motor. Unless you are the lucky few that get 980 long range model (check your vin 8th digit)

and if they have any idea about brakes.. it is the front brake that does most of work. and in that aspect, performance version. indeed has better front brake systems. it is the rear brake that got downgraded. but lets not make it sounds like they have the same brake without even reading the article they linked

btw, the spec for brake can be obtained on Tesla website under user manual ->subsystem
the front rotors are of different size

8th digit for performance is F while non-performance dual motor is E

Digit 8: Motor/Drive Unit
5 = P2 Dual Motor (Designated for Model S & Model X)
6 = P2 Tri Motor (Designated for Model S & Model X)
A = Single Motor – Standard / Performance (Designated for Model 3)
B = Dual Motor – Standard (Designated for Model 3)
C = Dual Motor – Performance (Designated for Model 3)
D = Single Motor – Standard / Performance (Designated for Model Y)
E = Dual Motor – Standard (Designated for Model Y)
F = Dual Motor – Performance (Designated for Model Y)
My 23 MYLR (7SAYGDEE3PFxxxxx) turns out to have the performance motor, it also has the matrix head lights.

I was applying and backed out when they mentioned pulling credit to open account
Did they pull your credit to open account?
I understand pulling credit when applying for loan
most banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions do check your credit when you submit an application to open an account, these are most often soft inquiries that don't impact your credit score.

If you ordered the mylr at the pre-hike price, you will get the myp at the pre-hike price. You can change the order u yourself.
Not always. Some of us for some reason can't make any changes, but a quick call will resolve that.

Would make sense to just use what's available during surge and then software lock it down to standard level of performance or just produce all performance motors and software lock it.

I was approved at 2.99 and then she said "with the promotion going on, you're rate will be 2.49". I then asked if that included the .25 reduction for having direct deposit and she said "2.49 is the base percentage, so no, 2.49 is the lowest". I'm good with that 😀. She said 72 months is 3.99 and with promotion it will be 3.49. So depends on what you need.

How long they took to process your account and loan application? Did they send the check to Tesla?

I started on 1/20 with them. I just received my vin on Saturday so Gold Coast is waiting on the motor vehicle purchase agreement, final numbers, to send out the money. I don't have a delivery date yet. So now I'm waiting on Tesla.

Ok a lot of us have been asking about GCFCU. Since then who has took the leap to open membership and apply for the loan? Those who did could you please answer these questions for most of use which are.
Did the do a soft or hard inquiry for membership?
Was it easier to do both a the same time?(sounds like a sex question when type that)
Who did they pull the report from?
Any other information besides what we already have would be great and thanks for the help.
