Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Thanks for clarification. As I'm also paying cash, I plan to setup my bank account and just pay at pick-up w/ Plaid then, once I do my inspection. Well, I'm hoping they drop off at my driveway, but we'll see if that's offered once I get my VIN and delivery scheduled.

A family member got their MYLR delivered to their driveway. I think they provided a 4 hour window for drop off.
They MAY require prepayment for home delivery vs. picking it up yourself at a service center. Just be prepared in case that comes up.

Could you tell me if the 7 seater is good, Any suggestions on which one to choose between Sienna 2023 XLE vs MYLR 7 seater. We use 7 seater very rarely (when my inlaws or parents visiting us). I have Sienna ready for Delivery in March and MYLR on Feb 15th, your feed back might give some insght on MYLT 7 vs Sienna for me.
Not in the same league when comparing the third row. Minivans are great at transporting 7-8 people in which you actually have room in the third row and can fit adults. 3rd row midsize SUVs (and even full size SUV to an extent) have really tight 3rd row only suitable for kids and even then it's pretty cramped. Model Y (and even model X) are really cramped for average adults as your head is very closed to the rear windshield.

I have a 2021 Sienna (same body as 2023 I believe) and just got the MYLR 5 seater. And also 3 kids. I can't imagine there's any comfort in fitting small kids much less bigger people in the 3rd row comfortably in the Tesla. We essentially use the van for hauling everybody and the Tesla for shorter trips. Also for the Sienna we comfortably fit 3 kids and 2 dogs and luggage. Can't say that for the Tesla. Hope that helps!

I think you replied to the wrong person, but I agree with your points. Completely different comparing a minivan. I would NEVER buy a car with the 3rd row (except a oversized SUV or minivan). And oversized SUV I would mean like a Suburban, Tahoe, etc. I've sat in the 3rd row of the MDX, XC90, which are relatively roomier than the Model Y, and it was uncomfortable for anyone larger than 5'. Kids would be okay, but I don't know if I'd even want my kids in the 3rd for safety reasons.

If you need the 3rd row to use on a regular basis, go for the minivan. I could count on two hands the number of times we used the 3rd row on our other cars. Good in a pinch, but not ideal. Better than having a grown adult lying in the trunk I guess...LOL.

Id you wish to use Plaid to pay the balance on the car, you can do so at delivery. If you don't want to use Plaid, you can bring a bank certified check for the balance and give it to Tesla at delivery. You can, also, always pay in advance if you choose.
Using Plaid, can we transfer money from savings account or it has to be checking account??

You can transfer from savings. You basically navigate your online bank's system via Plaid.
Source: that's how I paid for mine.

Yes, I agree with all of that. The problem is that USSFCU said they cannot have me sign the paperwork for the loan itself before the Date of Agreement, which Tesla lists as the delivery date on the MVPA.

I already have my down in place, but they will not even let me SIGN the loan contract until the day of. They will mail it overnight for $30 fee on the date signed, but that's moot point because then it arrives the NEXT day.
hi, how did you resolve this issue? thanks

Sorry fixed that. My wife wanted to change to the 7-seater to have that option. I told her "you want to have the $4,000 option for something we haven't used in 6 years in our 2011 highlander?" Then proceeded to show her some YouTube reviews of the 7-seater Model Y. She changed her mind.

I'm not knocking the 7-seater but it was just not for us and shouldn't be considered as an alternative for hauling 7 passengers like a minivan does so well.

It is not true. I had the vin assigned and scheduled a delivery date which is next weekend and I haven't made the final payment yet. I was thinking to pay via plaid or bank transfer and now I am thinking to get a cashier's check or something from my bank.
Same. Mine is scheduled next week and I have not paid yet. I was not sure if they will allow plaid payment after I pickup the car. Why are you thinking of getting a certified check?

Finally found a decent set of floor mats after the third attempt. This is for MYLR seven seater, but the have a five seat option. The first were either quality of fit issues. These worked perfectly.

I'm financing through Tesla. Once done with financing in the app, I just went ahead and paid my down payment in the app.

I've also changed the terms today to add additional down payment and will pay the remaining balance tomorrow when I inspect and pickup the car... also doing so via plaid. CS told me via text that I can pay via plaid or cashier's check. If you do online banking, I can only see one reason for you not to use plaid: you don't want a third party involved in your data. Most places charges an extra fee for cashier checks and it also adds the inconvenience to have to go to the bank to get that check as well.

I am not worried about plaid, have used it in the past as well. I just wanted to make sure that tesla is fine with paying at the time of delivery as I am not financing.

Order 2/2 and got the VIN number the next day with an TBD EDD. Today the EDD change to Feb-March like everyone else but the VIN disappeared from my account. The VIN does show the model I ordered. Wondering if it will get updated with different VIN or original VIN will reappear soon.
