Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Does anyone know if CVRP rebate for California change on Feb 28 will increase for standard applicant (not talking about people under 400%FPL).

I know website said will increase for those 400%FPL but wonders if basic standard applicant will see any increase from $2000.

Not sure if the govt's push towards electrifying America is working its magic but it feels like I woke up one day and just decided to go for it. been knee-deep in getting solar quotes (and ofcourse, there's always the ancillary stuff like main panel upgrades and permits and running a new wire/conduit for EV charger), and now that stuff is finalized, I realized we don't have an EV yet.
our ICE car lease is up next month and in the market for model y.
so, for folks in the Bay area or SoCal, if you'd like to give up your MYLR (black interior), I would be happy to take it off your hands.
don't qualify for the tax credits and if delivery takes a couple of months, so be it. meanwhile, I'll keep looking on CL and FB for used ones.

I suggest contacting them, they are pretty responsive to emails.

When did you all get MVPA with financial institution filled? for submitting for loan approval? I have the VIN assigned but generic cash purchase MVPA even though I added third-part lender info to the app.

Gold Coast CORRECTION:
On the 60 month term and 72 month term you WILL need to have direct deposit to get the 2.49 for 60 month rate and 3.49 for 72 month rate. You have to have the direct deposit go in before they will give you the discounted rate. If no direct deposit, your 60 month rate is 2.99 and the 72 month rate is 3.99. GLTY!

Ordered MYLR White/White - 1/13 @ 0444 PST
Changed MYP White/White - 2/3 @ 0913 PST
VIN assigned, Fremont build - 2/14
Current EDD after VIN assignment - 2/15 to 2/22
Congrats on updating your order early.
I am monitoring the tweeter feed, and I am not seeing much in the way of MYP production or availability. I may be in for a long wait.

When you get the VIN and an actual delivery date, you can schedule up to 3-4 days out. You can't push it by a week unless you text Tesla and request to do so. In my case, I had an actual delivery date of Tuesday with option of Wednesday and Thursday. Texted and requested for Saturday pickup via text.

Hopefully, you'll have access to texting when you are out of the country.

LOL, it's not that bad here. The only way that you'll be living paycheck to paycheck at that income level is if you have kids, order Uber Eats multiple times a week or make it a point to rent in the most expensive areas. Point taken though, buying anything but the cheapest M3 with tax rebates is probably a bad idea at that income level.
with 2 kids and associated extra curricular classes + high taxation will barely cut it. I'm glad I'm not in that position. But having this 200K limit on a family to qualify is kind of a bummer IMO. 300K would have been good for many folks (I wouldn't have qualified regardless)

VIN number assigned. Pick up date on 2/18

Question: When do you make the down payment? I already did a Plaid verification to to my BOA account. Since everything is done through a friggin app, it's not clear what needs to be done when.

Also contacted the CU with MVPA which was made available yesterday. Didn't hear back. Not sure how this all comes together :|
