Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Saw some content in regards to ModelY qualifying for 7500 tax credit even after rules change sometimes in March. Rumor is Austin builds with 4680 battery will still qualify for full tax credit. Thoughts??

Does light show works only with matrix head lights?

Works with any lights, but the matrix ones can spell out TESLA and the normal ones just light up and flash and stuff in time to the music.

Literally nobody knows until guidance is issued.

Also only the SR Model Y gets 4680s, which is a minority of all Ys built. That said, 4680 and 2170 are both built in the US--- the issue is not where the battery is built- it's where the stuff IN the battery is sourced from.

THAT will be the guidance that could go a number of ways when they issue it.

I don't have any reason to down size for distance etc and I like the 20's size, the appearance of the Überturbine Wheels is growing on me. If anything I may replace them with aftermarket 20's and swap the tires/TPMS.
Not a bad idea. Although, I may change to 18-inch wheels just to get little more juice out of it.

I am not familiar with the M3 VIN definition, my guess you probably have the new 4D1 motor since you have the performance model. Here is a good source on finding the actual Motor model:

to those that went with and actually got financed via Tower did yall have to comply to this insurance requirement prior to your loan's approval? TIA
I like to know too. Do you buy the insurance in advance? I was going to go with Tesla insurance, but it can't be completed until delivery.

Thank you. My sales rep said MYSR is as good as MYLR considering MYSR comes with 4680 batteries which can be charged 100% and more durable. Is it true? And apart from range there is no difference between SR and LR?
