Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I am getting my MY in 4 days and already knew about all this stuffs .. I am not planning to purchase the enhance auto pilot or FSD so doesn't really impact me too much.

Tesla Vision
We are taking the next step in Tesla vision. Your vehicle now fully relies on camera vision to measure distance to nearby objects, deliver active safety features, and provide Autopilot and Full-Self Driving capability (if purchased). This new approach enables improved visibility, better object detection, and greater abilities for Autopilot in the future. With this move, your Model 3 is no longer equipped with ultrasonic sensors, which will temporarily impact some features.

Today, we are taking the next step in Tesla Vision by removing ultrasonic sensors (USS) from Model 3 and Model Y. We will continue this rollout with Model 3 and Model Y, globally, over the next few months, followed by Model S and Model X throughout 2023.
Along with the removal of USS, we have simultaneously launched our vision-based occupancy network – currently used in Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta – to replace the inputs generated by USS. With today's software, this approach gives Autopilot high-definition spatial positioning, longer range visibility and ability to identify and differentiate between objects. As with many Tesla features, our occupancy network will continue to improve rapidly over time.
For a short period of time during this transition, Tesla Vision vehicles that are not equipped with USS will be delivered with some features temporarily limited or inactive, including:
Park Assist: alerts you of surrounding objects when the vehicle is traveling <5 mph.
Autopark: automatically maneuvers into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces.
Summon: manually moves your vehicle forward or in reverse via the Tesla app.
Smart Summon: navigates your vehicle to your location or location of your choice via the Tesla app.
In the near future, once these features achieve performance parity to today's vehicles, they will be restored via a series of over-the-air software updates. All other available Autopilot, Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving capability features will be active at delivery, depending on order configuration.
Given the incremental improvements already achieved with Tesla Vision, and our roadmap of future Autopilot improvements and abilities, we are confident that this is the best strategy for the future of Autopilot and the safety of our customers.

I am getting my M3 P within 2 weeks. It's not a choice, you either agree with the changes or probably risk loosing your order.

Atm, this does impact use for all owners, even those without FSD. With USS, you could see on screen exactly how close you are to objects even those you cannot see on your cameras. This was an excellent feature when parking in tight spaces or around objects not visible by the cameras. Without USS, you are now visibly limited just like any other vehicle.

However, there have been few reports of non-USS equipped vehicles with the distance measuring turned back on. Tesla needs to turn this feature back on for all vehicles.

Yes, caego cover's included on all 2023 MY, regardless from which facility was built.
Correct and not correct. The cargo covers used to only come with MY's from Texas, and since Nov/Dec, they come with those built in Fremont, too. However, the cargo covers do not come with 7 seater MY's.

You can try to check with the local Tesla center. We went in for a test drive on 2/20 and asked the Tesla advisor if there was any MYLR and was informed that someone just canceled his order so the VIN could be assigned to us. We picked up the car on 2/22 and loved it.
Are you located in Utah?

You have no options, just a blue button to basically proceed with the change.

Yeah, i realized that after replying but was too lazy to edit. The 7 seater to me is like the middle child that keeps getting forgotten... lol

Please note that there is an overwhelming response to join our credit union, therefore, consumer lending is currently being restricted to the state of Florida only.
I hope this is for new applications.

I put ours in a few weeks ago.

When I spoke to them on the phone earlier this week, they said they're getting to them in order they were submitted. Just overwhelmed. Getting something like a 100 applications a day and mostly people trying to buy Tesla's lol.

A YouTuber I watch said that sales associates are telling customers that they have heard internally that the federal tax credit will be good until at least March 31. Take that with a grain of salt.
