Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I'm still on the first month free of MyQ, here are my thoughts. It works great so far with auto open and close as you approach or leave your house.

For those that don't have MyQ enabled garage door opener, you can just buy this unit to turn your garage door opener compatible with MyQ [amazon.com].

For garage opener options for your Tesla:
  • Use your good old clicker, you can be creative or you can just clip it to your visor
  • Get the MyQ unit to make your garage compatible, download the free app and control your garage door opener from your phone.
    • I've read somewhere that you can also do voice command on your phone to open/close the garage door. I haven't done this myself.
  • Pay for the MyQ integration at $45/year, $179/5 years or $299/10 years which includes geo fencing.
So between premium connectivity and MyQ integration, up to you however you want to spend the money.

Lot of cancellations lately.. perhaps due to March 1st event and new tech coming in few months. Also new battery which can be charged to 100%
HW4 is coming to Model 3/Y last so people will be waiting for awhile - rumors are not until Q4 of 2023 or beyond. Really only affects people planning on spending $6-15k on enhanced auto/FSD. Just like computer and tech, if you want for the next best thing, you'll be waiting for awhile.

That's myq themselves explaining it.

You get 30 days free, then need to pay MyQ for either a 1, 5, or 10 year subscription plan priced at $45/yr, $179/5 yr, or $299 for 10 years.
Thanks

Curious if they grandfathered any old accounts like mine that had a "free" integration activation.

Will find out in a few weeks.

Wonder if there are any alternatives that work for free/better?

Curious about the open part.

MyQ won't allow voice open on my phone through Android. Some security issue about garage opening by accident when not home or whatever due to false voice command match.

Did they finally improve this process/functionality so you can now?

Lfp battery is only for model 3 standard model that is recommedned to charge 100%. 4680 is not different 2130 (current model y lr) charging 80% is recommended.

So model Y wouldnt get LFP battery which can use 100% juice? that would be a game changer because long range is not really long range if you cannot charge 100%

You absolutely can charge to 100% if you're taking a long trip.

You just don't want to do that on a daily basis-- which you wouldn't need to do anyway unless you drive 300 miles a day on a normal daily basis.

90% is the max daily recommendation per Tesla on non-LFPs, not 80%. (you can see this yourself in the app where the highest "daily" limit shown on the charging screen is 90%)- or in their FAQ here:

https://www.tesla.com/support/hom...lation/faq

Quote from Tesla :
For regular use, we recommend keeping your car set within the 'Daily' range bracket, up to approximately 90%. Charging up to 100% is best saved for when you are preparing for a longer trip.

Curious as to who your loan processor was? Mine was Garrett, we docusigned our paperwork today and said he would overnight the check but didn't give me tracking number. we also got 2.99% for 60mo
I have 2 days left till I hit my Tower 30 day preapproval deadline. I completed my membership, which has been approved for over a week, and all necessary loan paperwork 2 weeks ago. My processors haven't reached out to me nor returned my calls. I was patient and understood their volume but now it is crunch time. I have left messages for them and their supervisors and of course they never answer their phones.

I'd like to reach out to your processor Garrett. There are two Garrett's at Tower. Did yours have a last name of Welch or Thomas? Have any tips?

universal Smart GarageĀ® Control hub is FREE, just pay $0.99 USD for handling.
I got a free MYQ-G0301 from Amazon a year ago and never set it up. Now thinking to integrate with the Tesla. Anyone know if there is difference between MYQ-G0401 vs MYQ-G0301. It appears the 301 black model I got for free from Amazon is older model. 401 is the newer but whats changed?

Mine was Thomas. I only found out who my loan officer was by calling the main number and speaking to a bank rep. They do not proactively reach out to you.

Do you know Thomas' last name? I can find his extension that way. I'm sure there are many of them.

I've done that. I have my processor and some other one and their respective supervisors but I get no where.

I meant my loan processor name was Garrett Thomas, his extension is 7494. Good luck.
