Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I know this has been shared previously. Can someone list out the CA rebates? I know CVRP is one of them. Mucho thanks. Got my MYLR today.

Lots of paint imperfections. Frown

You will want to search the website based on your zip code. The common income permitting rebate for CA is the clean vehicle rebate of $2,000. I'm also getting $1,000 back from SMUD (electric provider for Sacramento area) for purchase and installation of a approved charger. I had a Clipper Creek 32 amp installed.

They honored my price at ordering. Just had to pay the additional $2,000 for the induction wheels
That's good to know. I was told by one sales advisor that an inventory car would first be added at the current price but then later adjusted to the price at ordering once it is associated with my account. However, I was also told by two other sales advisors at other times that an inventory car would only be at the current price, not the previous price if I had ordered it. Glad they were able to do that for you.

Finally got through this morning. Unfortunately, they now claim I missed the date by 1 day when I had several agents telling me my due date is 2/27, and the loan officer is essentially MIA for the entire week. Extremely disappointed but not surprised giving the feedback online.

Tfcu is the worst, cancelled my loan because they took too long to approve my membership. Now they want me to reapply at the higher rate.

CVRP is the only one you need to be aware of that is CA state specific. I don't think any of the power companies are offering any rebates. There is also a federal EV charger credit where you can get 30% of the costs for an installation of an EV charger up to $1K (assuming your EV charger installation costs are $3330).

I cancelled my order based on reviews and also need for Trunk and Frunk protection
I would suggest the otrifowd mats. They have the full sets. Also their trunk bins fit perfectly. Minor complaint on the mats as seen in the first pic below. Second picture is for the bins with cover - they fit my MYLR5 perfectly and look OEM.

Based on your details this is just a standard range Model Y. Lets add up all the extras to see if it is worth it. Standard range MY = $51990, Red paint = $2000 and 20" induction wheels = $2000. So essentially if you add everything up it equates to $55990 which is the price that was quoted and you didn't get any discount. I think they priced it that way because that is the MSRP price with that particular combination. At the end of the day what do you care about and whether you are willing to pay for all of it. If range is the main factor then you will want a base long range model for $54990 and you forgo the red paint and 20" induction wheels.

I'm fine paying $2k for red and $2k for 20" as I hate the base white. But would've loved to get the Long Rage MY for another $3k. 50 miles bonus miles.

Now that the VIN # is assigned and the order is confirmed pick-up 3/4-3/12 if I request them to hold off and switch to any new LRMY that shows up or build a new with April-June delivery. 🤔

By doing so will I loose my $250 and need to pay another booking fee if I cancel this?

Well if you know for sure that you want to upgrade to the Long range MY in red and 20" induction wheels, I would recommend calling Tesla customer service and have them adjust your order to those exact specifications and they will gladly upgrade you to the desired model and will put you back into the queue to reassign you a new VIN. You would not lose your $250 order deposit since you are not cancelling your order entirely.

Had you not been assigned a VIN you could have done all the upgrades on the Tesla account online for updating your design. I would act fast and let them know quickly though in the morning.

Over the phone they didn't want to do it. In person they did it with ease.
