Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

There is one available in Pennsylvania. I'm in Virginia. Can I still buy that and pick up from there? In the details it says- "This car can only be registered in ME, NH, NJ, PA, VT".

Does it mean I can't buy it there, bring it to Virginia and register it in my state?

Thanks.

So everyone was saying March 1st was some kind of deadline for the IRS, my question is how come nothing has been said since then.

Is it possible this credit just becomes the norm for the rest of year or more. Could anyone not buy a TESLA today and qualify?

We had a previous EV credit program and then this one came along with even better terms. Is it crazy to think there would be even better tax programs? Just a thought
NLT end of Mar isn't Mar 1. Yes, if you took delivery today you would qualify. No it's not going to be higher but eliminating income & sourcing requirements would no doubt be better.

I am still not clear what exactly happenned for the order made during week of Jan 20 thru Jan 30th: Did Tesla lost the complete batch of orders since folks who ordered in Feb 1st week and 2nd weeks they got VIN number and it got delivered. The most idiotic company run by Elon Musk and no idea how his logictics works

higher (1k), checked. same, clean. I suspect it has much to do with area. many in immediate vicinity are driving G wagon/AMG/Q8/X7/Maserati BEV et al. with the sporadic lambo

It could be because the rate has been increased to $1500 from Feb so may be he want take more money by delivering orders from increased rate

I used to think Tesla was an awesome company until I placed an order with them.

* Order 1/17 to Minnesota
* VIN arrived 2/20, est 3/04-3/13
* On 2/21 Est Updated to 3/14-3/23
* On 3/4, after 2 business weeks with a VIN, I was finally told it would depart Texas on Monday 3/6
* Today 3/7 the VIN disappeared from my order. No updates as to what is going on. No sign my car is on the way. FFS!

Thanks for the less than fun order experience Tesla. My great opinion of your company is definitely not sliding off a hill at this point...

I also had the same status online and visited a branch yesterday in MD as my membership application was pending. According to them, this status means your 30 days lock period has expired and you will have to reapply again at the higher interest rate. The preapproval email I had mentioned a date and I was still within the 30 day window. They were willing to cut a check of the loan amount and give me the same lower rate but they need the VIN. My problem is no VIN.
Thanks for the info. My case is for refinance and already have VIN and all paperwork submitted except Title as DMV has sent me that yet. I guess will have to call them everyday until they extend as I don't have a physical location in my state.
