Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Tesla is at 5.59% Also, My trade in car is already paid off and I'm wondering if this is worth the tax credit? My delivery is scheduled this Tuesday.
What do you mean if it is worth the tax credit?

in some state you save some sale tax when trading in your old car because you only pay sale tax for the difference of new car price and the trade-in price, rather than the total of the new car price.

Oh Thanks I was not even aware one can text them and get an update. Just now the scheduling worked and able to book it. Based on the final price sheet with VIN number Odometer is listed as 15 miles so which means Production is done and quality check are done. Not sure when IRS comes and declare its new policy. If before 23rd I pick up, IRS issue guidelines than it becomes a new game changer. Can someone also explain how loan + payment due works. I have 50% price loan coming from US Senate Federal Credit Union and remaining 50% payment from my side. The apps says make payment prior to delivery but until I do not check the build while picking up, I do not want to make a payment.
This is how I paid
I took both my Cashiers checks(my own funds and CU loan) on day of delivery
Tesla backoffice rep from local delivery emailed me day before to confirm how I was going to pay and I emailed her back copies of my check and texted them to check email, next day morning on day of delivery they confirmed via text they have received my email for payment and all is good

No, that's not how it goes. All documents list the cars having less than 15 miles. It could be 2 or it could be 10 or whatever in between 1 and 15. For the most parts, people have been reporting 4-5 miles on odometer. Mine was 5.

You can pay on delivery day via your app/plaid connection to your bank or via Cashier check from your bank. You do that + (I assume) bring your cashier check from US Senate FCU.

Did you even follow up with Tower FCU after you were pre-approved? I mean you only have like 30 days before your preapproval expires. So its possible they closed your application since you did not close the loan on time. I think what you needed to do is ask them to see if they will extend the current rate you have or they will ask you to repull your credit.

I know it is a pain as I been through it with them as well, but they are really helpful. Call customer service and ask them to leave a message. That was the only way I got a call back.

Messages are useless and I never received responses to the messages. It's always best to call and talk to a human since they cannot ignore you on the phone.

I saw that 'inventory' levels seem higher and also that some cars are hanging around longer while others turnover. Perhaps it's a sign that the demand spike is waning.

I wish. Been trying to call the loan officer (Lisa) for more than 2 weeks.
Called the regular number and got through a few times but they either try to transfer me to someone (ends up with VM and no reply) or they say they'll send Lisa a message/email/whatever, but still I never got a call back.
This is very frustrating. Delivery date got pushed by a few days due to a dent, so I'm still hopeful, but not expecting much at this point
