Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Yes was planning to finance 100%
Wow congrats...what rate are you getting that lets your finance 100%. A lot of places with a low % APR require like a 20% down.

20% down got applied to lot of regional and small banks after all the Bank default issue. United States Senate Federal Credit Union still has low rates provided your credit score is top tier and good source of income. Next couple of months are going to results top ride to get new auto loan for good prices due to all banks defaults and Fed new regulations. even with 1 or 2% higher rate and if you go with 36% you are doing more principal payment and not too much interest. again if someone misses the boat this time due to high interest rate, trust me no one is losing the race since come Jun thru Dec, Tesla has to keep on reducing the Model Y prices to offset increase the interest rate paid by buyer. I am coming from strong economics and finance background, and Tesla has to keep on selling their Auto, manfacture them reducing the pricing to off set Market increased Interest Rate

If anyone interested in taking over my order of a blue MYLR, black interior, no other upgrades in Houston, TX. You can PM me, just want to get my $250 back. The car was ordered before the price increased, and it's ready for pick up tomorrow 03/20/23. Might be able to push back deliver date if you're not ready.
Curious to why you change your mind?

The bank issues you are seeing recently was not a trigger for the banks to have the 20% down. It is just a bank/CU policy for them to reduce risk in general regardless of recent events. I don't see some banner on the bank/CU website within the last 2 weeks that is a new rule on this because I closed my loan before I heard the issues with First Republic or SVB. As much as I want to finance the whole car 100%, I just want to reduce a bit of risk while still getting a good rate.

Ordered 3/9 at 8:51pm HST. Oahu, HI. Model 3 M3; estimated delivery 3/24-31.

Pleasantly surprised with the seemingly quick turnaround for Hawaii nonetheless - we shall see

Do you all order charging cable or wall connector before your delivery? I heard model Y is not coming with a charger any more so I went ahead and ordered the mobile connector and a nema 6-20 adapter (I have the 220v outlet in the garage for my other EV).

In CA State, Tower FCU is asking to get Power of Attorney document notarized on the same page, but my Notarized person is saying, as per CA law the verbiage on the document is different and it can not be notarized on the same page. Anyone from CA state has used Tower FCU for loan? If yes, how did you tackled Power of Attorney document?

Also do you usually ask Bank to send the cheque directly to Tesla or take it with you, when going to pick up the vehicle.

I installed a Wall Connector for permanent at-home use.

I also purchased the Mobile Connector to put in the trunk of the car for emergency or on-the-road use.

I also purchased the NEMA 5-20 adapter, and threw it in the Mobile Connector bag in case I am in a parking garage/hotel/etc. that has 20 amp outlets. Which will give you a bit faster charge rate than the included 5-15 adapter for 15 amp outlets.

Also, rather than connecting the Wall Connector directly to my 200 amp Main Panel, I installed a 100 amp Sub Panel and connected the Wall Connector to the Sub Panel with 60 amp breaker. Also, I added a 5-20 amp outlet with 20 amp breaker, and a 14-50 outlet with 50 amp breaker to the Sub Panel, that could be used with the Mobile Connector in a pinch.

A bit overkill, but I wanted to have multiple charging options, redundancy, and future proofing.
