Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Thanks for these details. Just to clarify:

If I'm the only one on the title but while claiming taxes, can I claim them while filing jointly with my spouse (while meeting the $300K limit, filing jointly)? Will that be fine even if the spouse is not on the title?

Thanks.
That should not be an issue as long as one of you is on the title. Issue would be if you are over $300k jointly but your wife is below $150k then your wife would need to be on the title/purchase order.

guys unable to locate thread on mats(which are best)
I bought this Otrifowd set [amazon.com] and been happy with it. It's very similar to the more expensive 3D maxpider kagu that can be found on amazon and various other website.

Bought their bins with covers for the sides of the trunk too and fit like OEM.

Mine's is similar to your's.
But where does the VIN show up on the app? I'm checking it everyday.

No that is not required. All you would need to do for the portion of the app is just provide your current auto insurance policy for your current vehicle. They just want to see that you have some type of auto insurance under your name.

However once you are assigned a VIN and you know your exact delivery date, you should be proactive and add the Tesla to your auto insurance effective the day of your delivery even if there is a short grace period to get things in order. Its really no reason not to do that since auto insurance companies can give you an accurate quote once you provide them the VIN of your Tesla.

I always tell people that SD makes me buy too many things. This deal was the largest outlay of cash so far. We went to place an order after MYLR price jumped $500 and happened to see a Austin 4680 build in Raleigh NC inventory and placed the order. Then we found out that we could not register it in GA. After having one non helpful cs agent in NC not help us, we found another MY standard showing in inventory in Charlotte NC and I decided to register it to a NC business I own but the next Tesla rep was great and switched out VIN to a white MY with 20in wheels and since it was still in Austin, they rerouted it to closest location near me in Atlanta. We took delivery on Feb 6th. Did the full frontal PPF, way more accessories than I have on any vehicle in years, installed Emporia wall charger and now have one more thing to do, refinance the Tesla finance rate. Tower and Gold Coast were a no go, now trying USSFCU. Anyone know what the best rate is for a loan that you can get done in a short amount of time?

I am scheduled to pick it up on Monday. Is there anything I should pay attention to on the MYLR while picking up?

Most common issues are panel misalignment, edges not flushed, paint chipped and scratched, seats are spotted and marked, doors hard to open/close. (got my MYLR few days ago with all these issues).

You may search on Youtube for Tesla delivery checklists too.

Good luck,

Did you rejected the car or accepted the delivery?

DCU is asking for Purchase Agreement. But I don't see any Purchase Agreement document in my tesla account. I see MV Agreement. Any thoughts, where we can find Tesla Purchase Agreement. Do we get the purchase agreement before delivery? I have the VIN assigned and I have to schedule the delivery next week.
