The navigator pro pet is incredible for hair. Any of the shark models with that yellow brush roll with the fins resist hair tangles better than anything else I've tried.

For the best cleaning of carpets, steer away from lift away models. They use smaller motors to save weight.

The Apex has Zero M. I've not had to clean hair from my wife and daughter for 3 years now. I absolutely recommend the Apex to everyone I know that needs a new vacuum.

Can someone pitch in and help if this is something i should buy for the pet hair? I am tired of my vacuum not sucking up pet hair from the carpets.

They are all good vacs. However, you gotta be diligent about getting rid of the hair that gets entangled on your rollers. I suspect a lot of the returned vacs are because hair-entangles rollers not moving well, stretching the belt loops, and as a result they no longer pick up large debris as effectively. Very rarely would the motors on these actually breakdown. In other words, vacs get returned, refurbisher swaps out belt and roller and the vac works well again.

Do people like shark if they also like Dyson? I need to replace my old Dyson. Got a robot vacuum to do the basic floors but want something for the stairs, couch, dusting etc.

This is a great vacuum, especially for human hair that gets wrapping around the beater bar.

Personally I would prefer vacuums that are easier to maintain. I'm only familiar with some of these models but the roll bars aren't removable without prying of parts of the vacuum. For most people these vacuums are all considered throw aways they break down.

Are you saying don't buy these because they cannot be taken apart for cleaning and maintenance?

I need a vacuum. I've never ordered refurb from Shark or any refurbished Sharks on Woot, which gives me pause. Are they like-new or visibly used looking? I prefer a cordless, but not if it's not worth it over a powered-lift-away, which are the best Shark vacuums in my experience. My condo is around 1300 sq ft. No pets.
