Get $300 with a new checking account and another $200 with a new savings account with qualifying activities. Plus, get an extra $400 bonus when you open both accounts at the same time. TOTAL $900.

Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years. You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one-time use.

To receive the checking bonus:
1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval;

AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of coupon enrollment. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the savings bonus:
1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval;

2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon enrollment;

AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the coupon enrollment. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the extra bonus:
You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new account within 15 days.

To receive any of the above bonuses, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).

Early Account Termination Fee
If you close either account within 6 months of account opening, you will forfeit the bonus.
23% return on investment, not bad at all.

$900 / $15,500 = 0.058

0.058 * 4 quarters = 23%
lol what? You're getting $900 for 90 days with $15,000. You need to redo your math.

Kind of dumb they put the deal expiration date in April. Would have done it sooner, if i knew it was going to expire 2 months before.

I was able to get the account opened in person.
Thank you. My daughter hasn't gotten a chance to get to a branch. We have her code, so hopefully she can get there soon and try.
I'm glad it worked out for you!

Went to chase to open the account because it said it couldn't verify it online and that is what support told me. Go with an hour and a half left in the day and they won't do it because they only had an hour left when they got to me and "their system is frozen".. how are they one of the largest banks in the US... I had to make an appointment and go next week.

Well, they don't make it easy to get the 15k in to the Savings account.

1) Online account transfer from an external account was auto-rejected.
2) Mobile app 30-day deposit limit for checks is 7,5k.
3) Emailing support just got me a reply about a number and extension to call.
4) Called number and informed them of my issue. Was immediately transferred to another department.
5) New department can't verify my identity because I don't have the debit card that arrives 3-5 business days after opening. It's been a week now. Nevermind that I've been a customer of Chase for 15+ years (Credit cards).
6) Finally get debit card, call them back and am told new accounts are restricted with online transfers for the first 90 days. How convenient, when you need to deposit 15k within 30 days. I can deposit a check at a branch/ATM, wire transfer or walk in to the branch with a duffle full of cash (okay, I added that last one, but for real)
7) I opt for ATM deposit of a personal check at the branch. Check is scanned by the ATM.
8) 13 day hold on the check.
9) Read article about Chase targeting millennials, spending billions on fancy technology and online tools. Right.
10) Moral of the story, do a wire transfer if you want this process to move at a reasonable pace.

I ended up ACH pushing from my other bank instead.. Though it takes like 3-4 days for it to clear once it hits and it still hasnt' triggered the next check. Trying to get my wife signed up though says it was rejected and the branch is terrible. Says it takes a literal hour to open a checking/savings account. Was like Wtf how does it take an hour? Then their system "frozen" and they couldn't do anything and told me to make an appointment for next week and they "should be able to use the code I have". Felt like I wasn't "rich enough" for their bank or something.

That's pretty much why I avoid dealing with in person bankers, if at all possible. Rarely is anyone able to do anything for you that you can't just do yourself and they're always trying to sell you something.

I have the same feeling about not being rich enough to help. It feels like these limits and systems exist to stop anyone that isn't rich from trying to break out of their class. All kind of alarms and fraud alerts going off when one of us tries to move a bit of money.

I wish I had the option to just do a transfer from my credit union on the other end. They only allow internal transfers. My other credit union limits transfers to $1,500 with external accounts. Chase seems to allow it, just not for the first 90 days. But they advertise it as a way to get money into the account for this promotion, so that doesn't make much sense.
