1. There was faint burnt plastic smell when I opened the box (as someone noted in review).
2. Did not have any issue with WiFi/Alexa connection.
3. There was some sort of software push after connecting the speaker to WiFi. After the update, I heard brief popping/crackling noise from the speaker during reset. Haven't heard it again since.
4. You can disable communication function and put Alexa into 'do not disturb' mode. You can also turn off mic to not use Alexa.
5. The speaker do announce when you change mode, although I do not plan to change it often.
6. I see a small orange dot LED lit in the middle during use. It is not that bothering (to me at least).
7. The only complaint that I have so far is the remote - buttons are somewhat recessed, not easily accessible.
I plan to test drive the speaker for next few days and decide wheter I would like to return it. So far, it seems to be working fine.

Open box wireless sub that matches up is $150, so $240 for the combo is still a solid deal if decent quality.

No options to turn off either.
You could open it up and disconnect the LEDs but that voice prompt? No thanks.
