Not what he asked.

No it is not the same as PLA or PLA+. I don't have personal experience with it yet but reviews seem positive and many people prefer it to PLA+. As with anything 3d printing, try a roll and see. I've used various brands over the years and find Inland a decent filament in all types except for PETG+ which strings like crazy for me. Others will have completely different experiences with the same filament.

PLA, PLA+, Pro, Tough, PolyLite, PolyTerra...Inland is getting a little absurd with their marketing schemes.

Would you rather them call a bunch of different filaments the same thing when they are actually different? Some people stick pretty hard to one type and brand so they can really fine tune their printing.

PLA+ and Pro are the exact same thing. PolyLite and PolyTerra seem to be identical, just in different color variations. And their properties seem to be the same as the base PLA, but their product pages also have the same pictures/info about strength as the PLA Tough. So, no, I'm not convinced there are as stark differences between them as you make it sound.

I haven't researched the difference in Inland's PLA vs PLA+ vs their BlahBlahBlah but I'd rather a company differentiate potentially different products than to pretend functionally different products are identical. Especially when small changes can make huge differences in printing temperatures, properties, stringing, printing speed, etc.

BTW, PLA and PLA+ aren't "the exact same thing"....

I didn't say PLA and PLA+ are the exact same thing. I said Inland's PLA+ and PLA Pro are the exact same thing. Which they are.

"PLA+ and Pro are the exact same thing." Not "Inland's PLA+ and Pro are the exact same thing." Notice the huge difference that one word makes?

Can you point me to the evidence of said claim? Of course not.

This exchange is becoming increasingly absurd. This is a thread about Inland filament. Of course, when I say "PLA+ and Pro are the exact same thing," I'm referring to Inland filament. Additionally, your response was "PLA and PLA+ aren't the exact same thing," which isn't even what I said; I said PLA+ and Pro, not PLA+ and PLA. Stop being so obtuse.

For evidence, you could go to the Micro Center website, search Inland PLA Pro, and the read the item description, which says they're the same. Since contrarians don't like to put in any effort, I did it for you:
"1.75mm Black PLA Pro 3D Printer Filament - 1kg Spool
PLA PRO (PLA+) filament is several times tougher than PLA; no cracking or brittle problem, and prints are hard to break. PLA Pro results in smoother finished printouts. PLA Pro has a low shrinkage rate and sticks very well both to bed and layer to layer. PLA Pro is a biological material, extracted and purified from corn grain, eco- friendly, odorless, and harmless to human."

Notice what's in parentheses?

Sorry your statements directly conflicted with what you were attempting to say? And even if they were referring to only to Inland filament it would be "obtuse" to believe they even made sense then? Is that what you what?

Not to mention the fact that Inland's PLA and PLA+ print at different temps and look different suggest they aren't 'exactly the same.'

That PLA PRO is being used interchangeably with PLA+ however also being compared..in contrast to plain-jane "PLA" (notice the lack of "+" or "Pro?")? LOL

I could compare and contrast steel vs silver but that doesn't mean they are the same metal even if both can be shiny. Even with parentheses involved Wink

Think of PLA like a pure metal while PLA+ / PLA Pro is more like an alloy. Add a little zinc or copper to steel and you get wonderfully different properties. Even if a 3rd party website might leave those out of the description.... (and wouldn't Inland's website be a slightly better source?)

Adios friend.

I DID NOT say Inland PLA and PLA+ are the same. I VERY clearly said Inland Pro and PLA+ are the same. I am very much aware PLA and PLA+ are different; I never attempted to say they were the same. It's YOU who keeps going back to that. The issue here is your fundamental inability to comprehend English.
