And China provides 80% of the total world production.
That doesn't mean it is a good choice, while I am sure most large Chinese farms are well managed, and the US uses chemicals and pesticides banned in other countries, I generally try to avoid Chinese agriculture products.

Seriously? This isnt even remotely close to a special price. Every single day you can pick up a container this size at any grocery store in the US for $1.

I just had to edit my response - more research shows that 60% does come from China and 40% comes from America. So, my guess is most of the Fresh and non-dehydrated garlic comes from the West Coast of USA, while most of the dehydrated (bottled) comes from China.

https://www.tastingtable.com/9047...20the%20US.

This is very disappointing to find out. There is a reason to be concerned about food sourced from China - other than the obvious concern that it's harder to trust vs domestic producers. There have been studies that show that the air in China is so polluted with heavy metals that when it rains, the rain water polluted the soil in China with heavy metals… which then end up in food products grown in China (many of which end up in vitamins and supplements sold to the West, for ex). That said, there is a reason to be concerned about food coming from China… but it does appear most of your bottled garlic is likely coming from China. So, not a reason to DV this deal unless you can provide a domestically sourced alternative at a competitive price.

Most dont have nutrition label. Not sure why. Probably not real stuff. Yes, good question on why shipping one month later doesn't make sense to me
