Not sure it's nationwide or just here in Sams Club SoCal. Their drink is also bigger than Costco.

Instead I'll be interested to see how long Sam's maintains this effort. Costco has no reason to ever make the hot dog combo profitably, as their revenue source is memberships. For Sam's I'd have expected this announcement to have been accompanied by some in-store branding to market the hot dog supplier (since product placement is a big revenue line for Sam's). Instead, this is clearly more about generating buzz overall, and potentially targeting in particular those Costco shoppers who've yet to wander into a Sam's Club.
Good luck!

Sam's Club gives away memberships through various promotions; memberships are not a primary source of revenue for Sam's as they are with Costco. Despite any per unit discounts which may exist relative to their Wal-Mart equivalents, Sam's Club ultimately profits by selling a given brand's product in large volumes (typically without positioning them against lower-cost, house-branded competition as is the case in Wal-Mart). In other words, if you want the cheapest Ziploc bags per unit (and you don't mind buying in bulk) you might want to visit Sam's, but if you want the cheapest generic plastic storage bags per unit you're likely better off sticking to Wal-Mart's Great Value option.
As such, this offer may only last as long as the associated marketing budget holds out or perhaps only Sam's can hold out long enough for supplier costs to somehow go down.
Good luck!

Been a costco executive member since 08 and this past year I've went to Sam's more due to the ease of getting in and out. Costco is way too busy and sams is closer to my house. Thinking if I should just not renew coscto.
So Samsclub uses Nathan's hotdogs and Costco uses their own beef dogs. Between the two, Costco is a little bit larger and far exceeds the size of the buns. I prefer the Samsclub dogs but will definitely eat the Costco ones too. Both dogs are better than any you can get from a 7-11 or gas station that charges much more for it.
They were the same size but now I think they are smaller

Much smaller and quality is way worse too. Costco FTW.
Sam's gas is way cheaper than Costco especially if you have the Sam's credit card for the 5% discount. I have memberships at both clubs and I think this was the first year my Sam's club purchases were more then my Costco purchases.
I find it hilarious you mentioned the Scan n Go as the thing you hate when that's the main thing I LOVE. I have no issues with them scanning a few items at exit to save 10 minutes waiting in line. BTW, you are definitely in the minority. Also Costco and Sam's do the same "criminal" check even if you were checked out by a teller so I don't understand your beef. Also, you can avoid all the employees you "hate" with Scan n Go. My only interaction is at the exit and it's always pleasant.
