When you first turn the tv on, the majority of the screen is dark as it goes through a mandatory setup where you connect to wifi, pick what apps to install, login to google, and it installs a bunch of updates. It takes approximately 30 mins. Slow process, and during this process you probably can't notice many possible screen issues. Only after this point can you get in to apps and really try the tv out and look at some solid bright stuff. I made the mistake of sending the delivery people on their way after it got to the room I wanted it in, only to find out that I had a cluster of dead pixels right in the middle of the screen that weren't noticeable during setup. Nightmare of a process to return it because the delivery companies want it packed up and brought to the entry / outside of your home, even if they delivered it to a room of your choice originally and possibly took the packaging away as well. So my words of wisdom, unless you are capable of and want to possible be responsible for carrying it back out of your house and packing it up etc if there's a screen defect, tip the delivery guys to stick around for a few just to make sure the screen is all good which requires (sadly) sitting through the initial setup. I am on tv #2, and the screen is great. Worth the hassle just wish I had been more of a pest to the delivery guys when the 1st one came so I could have returned it easier.
I'd also recommend picking an early delivery time if possible. My 1st one, I picked a convenient afternoon time, and it was the last stop for these guys. The tv was laying on its side in their truck, which I don't think they're supposed to be transported that way, which may have contributed to the screen issue. I was thinking perhaps when they had a fuller truck earlier in the day the tv would have been standing up but who knows.
Also worth mentioning mine was from amazon with the "deluxe delivery" option which includes room of choice delivery, unboxing / removal of packaging (if desired), I think some kind of basic setup (not 100% sure as I did it myself), and the option to return it for any reason when they get it to you.
