Doesn't $45 seems excessive for these small plastic dolls and some cardboard "runway?" How is this FP?

Because the set is over $125 msrp. Even the two large dolls, if they were sold separately, would be more than the $44 asking price, not to mention all the smaller dolls. This is a very good price

I have a 7 year old and she wanted one of these lol dolls for Christmas. Even though I was totally against spending close to $35 on one, ended up getting it from Target. It was better quality than i expected. I happened to see the same one (exact model number) at Macys for about $16. I got that one too. But that was not of the same quality. The doll itself was same, but the packaging and the accessories was not same..The one from Target had high quality prints outside the box, thicker plastic and cardboard. Also the small accessories were packaged thicker plastic type material. Macys on had terrible print on the box, like it was blurry. Also the box itself was very thin..inside packets were made with thin paper.. I wont say it was fake. But seem like they make the same product in different quality, may be depends on the store.
Anyway at this price, It is a good deal. Even on sale one of those doll going to cost 15-20.
