Have two kids and live on the Puget sound in Washington and both of my kids did outdoor preschool - these have a nice look, but if you are seriously looking for boots for kids younger kids go with Muck Boots or a clone. Not only do they double as snow boots in many areas (where it doesn't get below 20*) the neoprene stays tighter to clothes and doesnt allow nearly as much to seep in.
Buy Hunter boots for your wife, buy your kids stuff that wont give you a headache.

Happen to have any clone suggestions? Haven't needed yet but back in the Northeast wouldn't mind a cheaper option for the kids while in season. Thanks
