How the mighty has fallen. Pioneer plasmas were the best, then panasonic , then we ended up with the crappy samsung.

People don't know this but plasmas had DCIp3 color space, it was theater level colors BEFORE HDR even came out.
Plasma, or BUST!!!
So it looks like TCL is the manufacturer for Pioneer televisions, which gives a bit more confidence to me in consideration for this TV. It would probably be a great bedroom TV at this price and I'm betting that the quality is on par with the 4 Series TCL TVs which I actually think provide fantastic bang/buck performance. This is tempting at this price to replace an aging, although still working very well, 50" Zenith Plasma from about 2011-2012 timeframe.

Thanks for the heads up, OP! Thumbs up and repped.

Edit - well I tried to rep, but apparently I've given you rep recently. Oops. Sorry, but the rep is there in spirit!

I noticed retailers are doing more sales on budgets brand TVs like rca, pioneeer, Onn, Westinghouse, etc. I'm sure if it was tcl, hisense, insignia, etc it would sell faster , I'd consider those a bit better quality

Same here, 2007 panasonic never had a single problem with it, only EPG service stopped working years ago.
Still watching it daily and keeping my room warm at constant 69 deg. temp.

Forgot how much my Panasonic plasma warmed up a room 🤣

Other than that, probably my favorite piece of technology I owned.

Skin tones, black levels and motion handling looks more natural than on my X90K for whatever reason. This is even after post calibration with CalMAN.
