Is there an easy way to learn how to OC ? I have crucial ballistix E die 3200 CL 16 M16FE1 would like to get them to 3600
Rev.E is well explored you can search online, there are cheat sheets you can try to apply but again OC is always different since everyone has different CPU/Mobo. Dual Rank Rev.E can do 3600 C14-19 without any problem.
You need to do stability test after OC

3200 CL16 or 3600 CL18… I can't decide! Would love some advice on this one, I'm not worried about the extra $10.

Depends on your CPU and if you over clock. I generally go with the faster speed and run it a little slower than max rating. The 3600 in this case can do 3200 at CL16 but the 3200/16 probably can't do 3600.

The ram is probably the same, just 1 tested better than the other.

I run my 3600 memory at 3200 with a AMD 5600x. Stable and no problems 2 years later.

Is the DDR4 future-proof? I know AMD uses DDR5 with their new CPUs, but what about Intel?

I always wanted to run my Corsair 3600 CL18 at 3200 CL16 on my build but don't know how to do it. I'm able to set 3200 mhz but not able to manually set clock timing. My build is ASUS TUF Gaming Z690 D4 + i7-12700K. OC at 3733 mhz is unstable.

I have not used Asus in a while so not as familiar with their current BIOS.

Make sure you're running the newest Bios and look in the overclocking section. Most can be manually set if set to manual mode. But again not as familiar with Asus. Got burned on them once and never went back.

DDR5 is what AMD and Intels newer systems/Chips primarily use. So if building a new system then get DDR5 and a board/chip that uses it. But most systems still have DDR4. My B450-5600x is still going strong so no need to upgrade yet. Smilie

Intel 13th gen benefits much more from DDR5 than 12th gen. Right now 12th gen on DDR5 is only about 7% better performance than DDR4 for 3x the cost.

These are kinda slow unfortunately. I can't imagine many people are buying 32 gigs of RGB ram that don't care about the speed. Probably better off spending a little more for 3600.

If you're fine with it being a little slower and still want RGB, definitely a solid deal.

The 3200 RGB 32gb (16x2) is still available. Amazon is defaulting my search page atleast to a 3rd part showing a higher price of $100+ so make sure to look at other sellers to see an Amazon / Amazon for $79.

I have a Lenovo Legion i7 Desktop with an unlockable bios - all research shows XMP not supported and can't mess with memory profile, etc in bios. I thought it would default to JEDEC 2600 speeds but I was pleasantly surprised - shocked really - that it forced the XMP somehow and it's running full 3200 at 1.35v.
