Before anyone asks, no it will not work in a PS5.
The current drive is not the same as that review. It's changed at least twice. Warranty is increased to 5 years now and the speed ratings are higher.
I recently bought the 1tb version for $58. Based on what I got and Reddit posts, the current drive is RTS5672 based. I am not able to achieve the speed ratings on my Ryzen 5 3500u. It's about 500 mb/s slower. I have a support request in with Team group about this.
The 1 TB was terribly slow, and had issues with a little use.

Little googling will give you details on the issues

MP34 is a very solid performer.
https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...tb/16.html

The MP34 on the list is the 512mb version which is slower than the higher capacity.

Nice find OP. Would this be good for a 10gbps enclosure? I know that it would be limited to 10gpbs speeds, but I'm struggling to find a drive that does 10gbps natively. I know this drive would bottleneck but maybe run cooler since it's not pushing as high. Is my logic sound? Or is there something I'm completely missing? thanks

Not this 4TB deal, but anyone know for 2TB, how does the MP34 compare to Solidigm P41 Plus?

This is about 1000 MB/s slower (Gen 3 PCI-E) than the Crucial P3 Plus (gen 4) that was also on sale but this has DRAM and the P3 Plus does not.

What does DRAM do? What's the problem if there is no DRAM?

Also this has 3x higher endurance, 2400TBW for this vs 800TBW for the crucial. I got this for an unraid cache

Definitely. Name brand all day long. The Crucial is Gen 4 (faster) if you have that, but you can still use with Gen 3.

I wouldn't trust TeamGroup with 4tb of any data of import. Game drive only.

I only bought one TeamGroup m.2 (2tb MP33) and it failed after 6 months on the dot. No Celery

Anybody else dismiss this immediately after reading "512mb"?

Crucial lists no MTBF on that drive, only "hours", which makes me think it might fail faster than expected. Also, no dram. I don't know if that would be more reliable if you use it for some workload.

Correction: 800TBW. That's quite low. MP34 is three times more reliable. The only redeeming factor for crucial is that it's nominally faster. I'd get MP34.

TBW doesn't mean anything. Proof is in the fact that this launched with the E12 and 64L TLC, went to E12S and 96L TLC, and now uses a Realtek controller with 128L TLC at least at 4TB with the same TBW. Do not gauge drive endurance or reliability on TBW in the consumer space. That said, this will have more endurance than the DRAM-less and QLC P3/P3 Plus and should perform better with sustained writes (if used for caching) but I would not really suggest this drive at 4TB for that application. As for DRAM, the P3/P3 Plus can address 64MB via HMB while the Realtek usually only had 128MB local (local has a bit lower latency) so effectively very similar, by the time you need more DRAM you should be looking at a different drive (4TB).
