Bought this last time and the angle is all messed up if mounted flush... It looks straight at the ground and no rearward view. They did send some gaskets that angle it a lil more but still not nearly enough. So, I've installed this thing twice and the viewing angle is still awful. I'm giving up!

I bought a similar camera (Natika) for my aftermarket head unit..Alpine ilx-w650 installed on a 2012 Honda Accord..it works great. My head unit has input for 2 cameras so I installed one on the trunk just above the license plate for reverse..and on the front bumper below the license plate to see how close to the curb without scrapping the bumper. The rear is triggered by the reverse light..the front you have to manually select it from the head unit. Just remember these cameras are analog and have simple red and yellow video signal like RCA...and a power wire usually 12v and some 6v. So they can be used on any factory and aftermarket headunit. I'm pretty sure some automakers use the same cameras so these can be used as replacement for existing camera with few modifications. Its just a matter of finding the right wire on your car. I almost fell for trap of buying an Alpine camera for $200 while a $30 works just as well! Yes the Alpine camera is plug and play for the Alpine unit..but if you know or can splice wires it will work.

this one got 120 FOV at best, pointing straight down, and can't see the surrounding, I returned and bought Natika instead, night and day difference. lucky I did all installation by myself and all I wasted is my own time

I had this camera mounted on the 3rd floor and connect it to the monitor on the 1st floor showing the open / close state of the skylight window at the top of the staircase. With a wireless remote window opener next to the monitor, we can open / close the skylight window without having to get up to the 3rd floor.

The application is not limited to cars. It's a remote visual device that you can use for security or observation purposes (thinking about getting one as action cam pointing at the bird nest recently appeared on a tree next door).

I did the same thing. Looks straight at the pavement when mounted as it's designed . Had to return it and get the $20 DUAL from Wal-Mart again that eventually fogs up after 6 months.

My mirror that has the integrated camera to monitor fwd can also have a backup camera. However, the camera input is like a smaller 3.5mm jack. Is there an adapter for that?

For all those complaining about the angle, under the "Why choose..." section of the description the final item (#7) says:

I don't know anything about how these work. Obviously I'd need to get a display, but what else is required to use this? Are there install instructions or is this something I'd need to take somewhere to have installed? I'm fine with wiring stuff if I have a guide of some kind. My has wanted some sort of backup camera for a while.

I installed a similar (identical?) camera on my sons 05 Corolla and its perfect. You definitely need to "preview" the view before mounting the cam. Using an aftermarket pioneer stereo.

I bought one of these during Black Friday and ordered another. Replaced a flaky camera so this was just plug and install for me. Much clearer. Now have an extra that I can use if this one flakes out too.
