PAR38 != BR30
PAR38 is wider, taller, wider beam angle and generally used for outdoor (porch high hats)
Thanks for pointing the differences out! They're 1.97/ pack locally so I ordered both anyway! *May have a need somehow in the futureBig Grin

Just bought a house still running incandescent bulbs. This is almost perfect. The only thing better would be if they were 300K, but, for $10 to retrofit more energy efficient bulbs, this still makes sense. Even if I replace them later.

Site must be getting hammered. Every time I try to add to cart it says something about "error on their end, try again later." Happens at multiple locations.

Great price. I often paid $2-$3 per bulb in the past and still have incandescent ones I haven't used. The nearest store with any in stock (under $4 per box of 20) is 15 miles away with a low quantity. I'm just not feeling like spending an hour and a 30 mile round trip in traffic to get 1-2 boxes of these.

Great deal, but LED bulbs are a scam. The 25-year or whatever "theoretical" lifespan they always tout is a joke. They may not "burn out" like incandescents, but the wiring or something always fails and they start to flicker and die. All my LED bulbs do this after a year or two. I use them because they don't heat up the room, but if you have to dump them in a landfill every year, they are NOT more economical or better for the environment. I have some outdoor incandescents that have been going for 15+ years.

Insane deal and further puts the nail in that whole guvmint's taking away my incandescent bulbs nonsense. Why on earth would anyone still be using those except in those rare cases where it's essential to get the right shade and hue or it would be prohibitively expensive to swap them?

They likely had low inventory and fulfilled other people's pickup orders first or someone came in store and cleaned them out. Since the only store near me had a quantity of 6, I expect if I had ordered, mine would've been cancelled too. Someone else always beats me. The fact it was further away in a high traffic area convinced me not to bother.

I totally agree that the LED lifespan is a joke. My few oldest LED bulbs are about 3 years old (I was a late adopter) and they are typically only used a few hours a day or at night. I've had about a third of my LEDs die in 1-2 years. When almost everything is cheap China junk, the listed lifespan doesn't mean anything. Somehow companies get away with false advertising or I don't know what conditions they base it on.

Ever notice how most car dealers say they are "the #1 car dealer in ____"? They don't tell you based on what. I used to think that all US food was tested and proven safe to humans. Then I learned in the US companies can use chemicals in food unless/until they are proven harmful. In the EU I heard they have to be proven safe first. US "FDA approved" meat can come from other countries through various loopholes. There is so much scamming and trickery going on, it's scary and nobody in power seems to be trying to stop it. Even Wall Street is a rigged casino using other people's money. I'll end by saying there are some applicable sayings... something about elections, consequences, and deserved.

We've been using LEDs for years and maybe one or two have failed during that whole time out of well over a dozen, most used daily for extended periods of time or with constant on/off cycling. You must have had really bad luck or bought poorly-made ones. Incandescents burn out and CFLs get dim over time. LEDs are the way to go.
