I'm here to make sure the community isn't being taken advantage of.

These is a no-name product from who knows where. If you search amazon there are hundreds of similar ones selling for $15-$20 so this is no deal at all.

Also, saving a few bucks on eye protection can lead to a life of regret. Just buy from one of the legit brands during their sales event.
I ski 30-50 days a year.
I've used OM pro goggles for the last 5+.
Work perfectly fine for an expert skier, for well more than 1M feet of vert last year.

If you like, you're welcome to imagine that "insert-whatever-steezy-brand-you-like" is far better - be my guest.
But IMO, no goggle lens is going to make vis markedly better than a similar VLT from OM.
Might it be slightly better? *Perhaps.*

But again, these work just fine.
Flat light is just flat light - get used to it, and ski by braille.
Take some Dramamine.

Every polycarbonate lens gives complete UV protection, so that's not an excuse either.

Spend more, if you like.
But unless you're really focused on wearing a specific logo on your head, or believe incredibly minor differences are worth an order of magnitude more $$$, then get these.
These are obviously no-name chinese goggles, but that doesn't mean they can't be decent for occasional use. They look fairly well-made, specs are good (polarized, anti-fog, etc.), and they're FAR cheaper than the so-called legit brands, even when on sale.

I own multiple pairs of ski goggles, from $300 name brands to mid-grades to $25 cheapies, and each pair has its purpose. I see no reason to spend $100+ for amber lenses for my I/O Mags when I can get a polarized amber lens on these cheapies for $15. Particularly since I'll only be using the ambers on a handful of foggy mornings and a maybe for a few hours of night skiing. And if these suck, I'll just return them.

good call. do you know how should I go about choosing lenses? I mean, I want to have one for sunny clear weather and one for snowy, low visibility environment.

also, do you guys know if these play well with a helmet?

I ordered the 10% for blue bird day/, 75% yellow for cloudy/stormy days and forgot the % but somewhere in between for partly cloudy days. I always used mostly shaded ones but recently been having trouble seeing terrain on those cloudy or snowy days with those and scared of catching a bad bump, so needed something like that 75%.

As for helmet, not sure but ymmv depending on your helmet. In my case, my helmet sits a bit too high with my current goggles where they should be and these seem like itll make it even worse but we'll see

I could be wrong, but this seems like quite the exaggeration. Similar to saying you need to buy name brand eye glasses...because, well, your eyes are important.

Maybe there are advantages to name brands, but nothing in your post supports that other than price.
Fakespot gives these an F grade, so there's your support.

Looks like the OTG ones still work (second code) but the regular horizon code no longer works

Same. Picked up an OTG for a glasses wearer but I wanted the other model. Holler if the code starts working again.

I own 4 of these.

I bought two of the non pro editions when i first started out snowboarding, they kinda did the job, no thrills, fogged up easily. I retired these.

3-4 seasons later i picked up their pro version and coupled with prescription inserts from sportrx, amazing. No fog, magnetic lenses, inserts fit well

Yes, don't listen to this guy. You don't need $250 Oakleys. You may not even like snow sports and use them once or twice and totally wasted your money. These are totally fine.
Thanks!

FWIW, they're great for the avg boarder/skiier. I've had a pair for 3 years now on multiple trips, the kids use them as well. (Kids a diff story) They work fine, never had any issues fogging up (especially when we had to wear a mask indoors), and worked well with my glasses, something my last pair of Wildhorns could not do. (For $70)

There are those that have to have brand new, name brand, top of the line everything - helmet, goggles, boots, jacket, pants, etc. If you are one of those, this clearly isn't for you. If you don't, these should do just fine, and if they don't, return em. That simple.

As far as I know, it's not suggested to wear polarized glass on snow.

I've been skiing for 30 years and I've never heard that... Never noticed any issues when using polarized goggles.

A quick google search said that polarized lenses reduce glare, which could make it difficult to distinguish snow from ice. But you tell snow from ice based on the texture, not the glare. So I call BS on that.

It fogs real bad and it has a gradient "shadow" where it makes is really hard to see at the lower part of the mask, requiring you to look down time to time. Returning the two that I bought

Hmm, that's disappointing. I'm yet to receive mine and will only be able to test them at the end of February. Mind sharing more details? Also, just to cross off the obvious - have you removed the protective cover inside?
