Agree 100%. For the extra $4, you not only get the USB port but it's also brighter in all modes (360° lantern mode provides 710 lumens; 180° lantern mode provides 340 lumens; flashlight mode provides 130 lumens). The DML807 is also at its lowest price ever but has been since November 10, so probably no need to rush into it.

Seems like the 180/360 lanterns is "slightly" dimmer but the flashlight is stronger on the DML807.

I bought a cheap no b tree and one similar to this in Amazon for $35 and been using it weekly in the garage with no issues.

Button on those breaks according to a lot of buyers. Returned mine when it broke, for a data point of one.

It's ok. Not everything needs to be cheap no name brands. It's the reason I've a job. Plus I'm in the Makita ecosystem so I've batteries for it. This way I'm not contributing ewaste by having another battery that's usable on the cheap lantern only.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm a casual user so it would take me a few years to break this but honestly I don't need it at this point, terrible impulse buy.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing that link. Makita's own website [makitatools.com] lists considerably different specs for the 807 on the product page versus the flyer you shared. I don't know which to believe, but in either case, the flashlight mode is significantly better for the 807.
