If I wasn't under a "honey, you need to stop buying things we don't need" mandate, I'd get two of these and repurpose them as speaker stands for my work room.

Why not just buy cheap plastic speaker stands instead of these cheap plastic stands and wasting all that time?

4 c batteries are like 6v right? Most usb chargers will output 5v and I bet that would work. Just wire it up and find out.

That the same question I ask the universe when I see actual prices of speaker stands.
