I haven't tried multiplayer but I assumed it worked as there is a clear EAC splash screen on game startup, which means it is loading something to do with Easy Anti-cheat. EAC IS compatible with Linux. Lots of other games have it implemented on steam deck.

But now that 343 all got laid off, don't hold your breath for anything soon.

I have mine set to "GE-Proton7-35".

Does work on the Steam Deck with a tiny bit of tweaking (mainly controls) but honestly these games do not hold up well for their age.
Works but no competitive multiplayer due to anti-cheat not being compatible with Linux, but 343 and Valve are apparently working on a fix...

Very true.

I tend to look at anything on the Steam Deck from a single player perspective as multiplayer tends to be rather one sided against players using a mouse and keyboard.

I guess if you count installing it like any other steam game a "little work" and possibly selecting a different proton version lol.

True, although I have still play MMOs on occasion on my deck. Mainly just applies to shooters.

I've also had good luck on games like Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Days as you aren't going directly head to head with other players.
