Good price from a great vendor on a fantastic tool. The XDT15 was the tool that got me (deep) into the LXT ecosystem after working side by side with a tradesman to build our deck. It's a "gateway tool," as I call it -- definitely led to an addiction for me. Fits great in my hand, lots of power, and absolutely perfect weight/balance. Still the favorite of my ever-growing LXT collection.

Same here. A bunch of LXT and 3 Ryobi for lesser used tools.

This is the black sub compact line. It is not a cheap version of the full size tools, but exactly what it is - a sub compact. just like there are full frame pistols and compact pistols, this impact will do everything the big one will do with a few compromises that are well thought out.

one thing that is not at all compromised is driving power.

very much recommend and in fact I would go as far as to say that most homeowners are better off with the subcompact line than the full size line.

Do you Americans not have a comparable deal for the subcompact as we do here in Canada? Our deal for a brand new set might be better, but I'm not sure how it compares to this product.

SD posters have an obsession with impact and hammer drivers. There are hardly any deals with Makita drills for so many years.

We most definitely do. The subcompact drill+driver kit is like $160 at my local HD. Why is everyone here so excited about this refurbished unit priced higher than a brand new one? Ignorance is a bliss I guess.

Makita fanbois support anything blue.

CPO refurbs are pretty good imho but I'm Milwaukee fanboi so how could they go wrong

Oh I think you may have compared the wrong things. The unit I linked is priced at $129 Canadian which is roughly the equivalent to $100 US. $160 for a set at HD even more than what we pay which is weird cause it's always cheaper in the states.

$92 might be attractive when compared to $160.

The deal I was talking about is a DRILL + DRIVER combo kit, which is a much better buy than a single refurbished unit for $90 or a brand new one for $100.

The Makita sub-compact line is great. I also started with the sub-compact drill+driver combo, and now I'm fairly far into the LXT line (with the cheap Ryobi tool here and there for specific things). Just bought the sub-compact reciprocating saw, worth every penny (which isn't that much, since it can be had for like $140 right now)
