i have a 4th gen intel! 4770 i7. Its been a workhorse for 10 years almost. paired with a gtx 1080 at release, i have never had an issue. Video editing is slow though. Gaming perfect. But yeah these new games are not optimized so you have to pay for it. Only ID software knows how to optimize i swear, even the new doom runs amazing.

I'm too poor to buy a computer that will run this. Have to wait until it's available on ps4 for me. Just wish that it would release in Feb like the ps5 version.

While optimization is part of it, PC games are often console bottlenecked. For a long time games were designed to run the PS4 and XBox one, whose CPU was a weaker then that 4770. Now that games are moving beyond that gen we'll likely see even well optimized games start requiring notably better hardware. My own GTX 1080 is starting to be a minimum requirement, which feels crazy but that's likely to be a new norm sooner then later.
