Not a very good deal. The 65" should be under $300. Best Buy even had the better 55" 5 Series for $200 just a few weeks ago.
My 75 year old parents bought the 65" version of this TV recently and have been really happy with it. It might be bottom of the barrel but it is way better than the old tv they upgraded from. They paid slightly over this price and bought it in store at Wal-Mart near the small town they live in. They wanted to see the picture before they bought it. I convinced them to add on a cheap soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and now their setup is pretty great for only spending about $500.
Nice deal if you're happy with bottom barrel on a 65". It's a better deal that similar bottom tier samsung's of course.

Personally, unless you're a college student, I'd try to get something with local dimming that you're gonna use everyday, since edge lit in 2023 isn't that fun.

Hisense u6hf on Amazon has hit $350 a couple times lately at 58", I bought that recently and think it's a much better deal -7". To each their own of course.

Rings for the TCL vs hisense. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...eshold=0.2

Yeah it was a pre black Friday sale in November 2020. It went on sale at 3:00 a.m. Eastern. So I set my alarm for 2:50 a.m. Eastern 3:00. I snagged one by 9:00 the next day they were loading it in my van
I got this deal too. Great TV so far.

At least back when I got my TCL, the 6 series was the best feature/quality for your money.

Ya you're right. They don't really edge light big tv's nowadays. But direct lit vs edge lit is the same problem, tv shines one big "always on" light at the full array of pixels, which is gonna kill blacks and hurt contrast... This is why local dimming (basically a bunch of dimming zones than can turn on and off) was a big advancement awhile back.
You know what. I'll be honest with you. Local dimming, QLED, mini led, Uled, even HDR is all a gimmick to make consumers pay more for a TV. I have the A6H Hisense and the blacks look great. No local dimming on it. Movies look great in a dark room. Blacks don't look grey. Only thing that isn't a gimmick is OLED. So go ahead. Pay more. I love my TV.

Under $300 is like a Black Friday deal. You can't expect those prices year round.

Incremental updates with each. You found your price vs performance ratio somewhere on that line, doesn't mean everyone agrees. I bet you don't drive a Geo Metro.
