Got this for $8 ($13 - $5 Amex Small Bus credit) on Aug 2020. I am using it to charge the kids chromebook, Dell Laptops, Tablets and Phone. Very reliable and doesn't heat up.

The drawbacks are i) Since it is huge, it comes out of the wall outlet easily ii) The USB-C connector socket in the charger is not tight. So the USB-C cables comes out easily. If you don't press it properly, it wont charge.
i'd rather have 1 port. it means that it actually has 85W on that port.

many other "4 port" 85W chargers have 2 27W ports and 2 15W ports which isn't going to work your USB-C laptop
Wish these giant USB chargers would have beefy prongs or somehow integrate a plastic grounder prong bc these big boys always tilt and soooo easily slide out.

I guess I'd buy if I had to leave it in the wall. Only one port doesn't quite make it versatile

Was waiting for a 65+ watts charger to come on sale to use when traveling with my Legion 7 laptop. Rather annoyingly, it refuses to run off of an AC adapter if it's less than 65 watts, even if the laptop is consuming fewer than 65 watts.

Alas, no. According to monoprice website, this unit's only USB-PD 2.0, ans PPS feature was introduced in USB-PD 3.0. This is likely why the unit's such a great price, as vendors clear out their older USB-PD 2.0 models. Still probably a great charger if not needed for PPS.

Did anyone experience scratchy noise coming from these inexpensive chargers that claims to do 65w + charging? I ask because mine does whenever the computer is connected to the charger. If the charger is plugged into the wall without laptops connected, then it's quiet as expect.

The noise is not very noticeable when it is placed on the floor instead of next to the laptop I am using, but I am ignorant when it comes to all these modern chargers, I have slight safety concern about the noise.

You are probably noticing coil whine which is produced by inductors and transformers in power supplies. It's due to vibration and is normal. Manufacturers get rid of it by globbing glue and silicone on the components to stop or muffle the vibration but some of them don't do it due to cost. There isn't any safety concern from the noise alone, other than it is an indication that they cheap out on manufacturing and might do so in other areas.

You can probably charge a MacBook Pro with this at a fraction of the price of an official Apple charger
