This is a great bike at it's price range for riding actual MTB trails. I would definitely recommend this deal to friends I ride with if they were in the market for riding trails with chunk and small-medium jumps. Gravel trails of course not, overkill. For proper mountain biking on real mountain bike trails definitely.

From what I see, bikes has not been selling well and the inventory is building up for all brand. I expect much deeper discount later in the year.

Do you really need FS for any of these trails?
I guess you could make it work with a hardtail on most of the trails nearby, some black trails would be much better with FS, as well as Spider Mountain, but I feel like if you want and try, you can use a HT in most terrain lol, I have watched people do enduro trails with HTs lol

Or this one? Specialized Status 160. Similar price ( $150 more) .. but looks like better components. https://www.specialized.com/us/en...388-199767

In 2023. With the recession and lay offs going on, 50% should be the minimum discount on bikes 🚴

Now that's the real deal here, Fox suspension and better drivetrain more than make up for the price difference

Anyone have experience with the Rockhoppers? They have a few different models base $485 sport $565 and comp $713 on sale. Would any of these be good for a beginner?

Meanwhile I bought the Axxum for $229 and it never left my neighborhood. Glad that I didn't spend $2k to test my likelihood into biking. All I have is walnut creek in Austin area to bike. Nothin much
I saw that deal a few months ago and still mad at myself for not getting it. Now it's almost five bills

I know it's not the same class, and it's in the past, but the 50% off diamondback deals for Black Friday were awesome.

I got a rockhopper comp last year and I really love it! I'm still pretty new but I rode a good amount of trails over the summer/fall and I don't have anything to complain about.

This isn't the only bike on sale at the moment on their website. They are running a 2023 sale off many bikes (and accessories). Worth looking through the other options you have before deciding on a model. https://www.specialized.com/us/en...anner=true

Most people don't need full squish.

Heck, most bikes don't ever see enough rough stuff for suspension forks.
Need and want are completely different.
