Govee products suck, I bought a room thermometer and the temperature/humidity is always off by 4 or 5. their app is not user friendly, govee is cheap Chinese crap
I agree with you. Tried their water sensors and they didn't work. Had issues connecting and their customer was not helpful at all to say the least.

Totally agree. You can't get the color you want with these lights and they're just not bright enough. Certain colors are just not possible for these lights to produce. Even though the color wheel would lead you to believe that you can set it to any color, the lights show different color than what you selected in the app.

I have the 16 foot version that I I installed in my basement workout area for my indoor trainer rides on the bike. Adds pretty cool surround to make the workouts suck less. When I'm the only one home, I turn on the music sync and that makes it better. Plugged them into a Vesync smart plug and have them on a Google Automation.

Also, bought a 6 foot LED set earlier in the week (the Lenovo deal) and did the kitchen cabinets. Really solid upgrade to your space for such a small investment.

I've been keeping an eye on these prices all month (bought one set, want more). These prices look about normal, at least for the RGBIC. A good deal if you want them, but no rush if you're not sure.

Make sure to check the specs for number of lights. Some are 30 per meter (so, 150 per 16 feet). Others (the $14 RGBIC at the top of the list) are 18 per meter (90 per 16 feet) or so.

If you've never gotten these before, keep in mind that they are expose lights so you'll probably want to hide the lights or cover them. Without a diffuser of some sort, they can be a little blinding. Diffuser channels on Amazon seem expensive relative to the lights, so I made mine out of index cards. It looks nice, although it blocks a lot of light and probably isn't great for heat dissipation.

Also, the lights can only connect to one device via Bluetooth at a time and it just stays connected for a while, so it's nice to have a remote as a backup.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the set I got, the H61451D1, which is and was $16.

Im soo confused… if you read some of the questions posted on amazon about cutting rgbic, one of the grovee representatives answered with you can cut it

After digging in, i found out the more expensive models you can cut.. and the cheaper ones you cant

13$ 16.4 length

A: You absolutely cannot cut these because they have circuits every 5 buttons or so. You will destroy the segments. Which you can control via the Govee App! I hope this answers both questions

17$ 16.4 length
A: Yes, the led strip light can be cut on every 3 Leds, but the rest of strip will no longer work. And this model is not able to connect other light strips kits.
Any concerns, please feel free to contact us via [email protected].

Yeah if you do tho, make sure you block the ip in your router settings. I own the camera rgb set and it requires the camera to be connected to wifi… screw that.. i blocked the ip and outgoing connection on my router and it works

I picked up the 33' set last year for providing ambient light to my office. In general, I like them, and considering the low price I think I have probably gotten my money's worth.

A few things worth considering if you are like me and impulse bought them without reading too deeply into the details:

On these strips and strips like them, I think it's generally the case that the power is injected in the middle versus at the end. That may have ramifications for where you set them up.

The Amazon listing will generally say something like "32' (2x 16' strips)" and you might think that means you can use those two strips separately by purchasing an extra controller. This is, as far as I can tell, incorrect. I would be thrilled to be corrected on this point. Govee, at least, was unwilling to sell another controller/power adapter.

If you intend to use them as accent lightning or under counter lighting, and you have areas where you don't want the strip to go, you'll end up cutting strips and likely wasting some without fooling around with wiring yourself.

Bearing those things in mind, if they fit your use case, these are decently bright. I echo others' suggestions to get RGBIC rather than the standard RGB strips. The app somehow has simultaneously too many settings and yet too little control. Would also recommend forgoing connecting these to your WiFi if you can tolerate not controlling these via Alexa or Google.

Why are you not wanting to connect to WIFI? I have 3 GOVEE products all connected to WIFI..
