Thanks OP. I missed the October deals and have been waiting for this specific model to go on sale. While this deal isn't nearly as good as some of the October deals, it is better than what I've seen in the past two months, and I really needed a grill that can get up to temperature quickly like this. I'm in for 1.

These were on clearance at Walmart 2 weeks ago for $347. If some stores are slow at marking down prices, there may still be some available.

I missed the Oct deal myself and have been looking for a deal the last two months. Was it at Walmart stores or online?

I was very interested in this until I saw it at home depot. Very thin metals and didn't think it would last more than a couple years.

Good call out. Thankfully I have a birthday coming up, so it will be a gift idea. Unfortunately, I doubt the after market version is the same as the original, because it doesn't seem to go that way for grill replacement parts.

It was YMMV. I personally didn't have any stores within any reasonable distance that even had inventory. I've been watching for deals on this specific model like a hawk the past two months, and was really disappointed that I had no opportunity at that one.

Newbie griller here... so you can load up 10lbs of charcoal here and it runs for 10 hours at a time? Can it snuff out the charcoal to reuse or you have to load it up each time?

Yup, can fill the hopper with charcoal, start the fire then when done cooking, close the two vents and the fire extinguishes. How long the fuel lasts depends on a number of factors such as type of fuel and quality as well as cooking temp.
Much more convenient than a simple charcoal grill.

I get what you mean by that. I snagged one at Costco during last year's clearance for ~$350. While assembling it, I thought to myself: the hell would I pay $800plus for this flimsy thing.

Having used it though, I have to say: I love how well it works and how easy it is to use. For the price I paid, it was well worth it.

Now what I will not do is pay hundreds of dollars on accessories that are available for this. I did get a power bank and a USB adapter, so I don't need an outlet to run it. And I did replace that utterly useless "thermometer" and nice cover. All-in-all less than $100 in accessories.

If you manage to find this for $400 or less, it's worth it. Assembly is a bitch though...
