The best gloves for auto work I have found that suit me very well are the honeycomb pattern rubber-coated garden gloves from Walmart. I can work with the tiniest fastener with those. I don't even remember the brand, they come in bright yellow, pink, and blue I believe. I never fell for these so called Mechanix gloves, I have used them and I feel they are not for me, these are great for handling bulky items or moving heavy items and such but not for fine and precise auto work.

I found these while looking for some new gloves, it looks like they don't carry both styles together at any of the stores local to me.

These are quite comfortable work gloves, always keep one or two pairs in house for DIY.
