If you follow the manufacturer's part number on Microcenter's website to the Asus website you get this model number: "S5602"

Here are the specs for those that want to see them.

Microcenter shows one available slot - I was able to find zero information on this laptop online. Still ordered it this morning for pickup in PHL. I have a I3 from last year and this will be a huge upgrade. Soild deal for basic uses

Can someone confirm if this is UHD or XE graphics. I believe UHD is older and "weaker"?

This seems like a pretty darn good deal, but I really wanted one with a 14" screen (or around). Very tempting and I have a microcenter an hour away so I could check it out if they have it on display.

It is 8GB of onboard with one spot allowing an additional 8GB of RAM (total 16GB). I had to contact ASUS to confirm today

IPS Screen + 300nits why are some referencing the screen being a bummer/downfall?

If one isn't doing graphics work (only using for general use) does a 45%ntsc look bad on say youtube, etc??

This one was ticking all the boxes until saw this, sounds like 45%ntsc can = washed out colors. You need 72%ntsc to = 100%rgb color representation if I understand correct.
Which is about~60% sRGB. The main thing you will see is that the colors might not be quite as saturated and 100% sRGB screens, but IPS and the brightness will let you forget that looking at this screen in isolation.

That is, it's good enough for general use. I'm a screen snob, prefer OLEDs, but have a few low gamut screens and they're fine for general use.

Microcenter states: "Total Memory: 8GB | Memory Slots (Total): 1 | Memory Slots (Available): 1)"

IF they are describing accurately, either it's (A) one slot board with 8 in place, almost certainly able to be replaced with 16 stick, or (B) 8 soldered with an open slot for anything up to 16.

I'd bet the latter over a coin toss, and say max is 24.

Thanks! I'd mostly be docking it to a monitor for them. I think they'd have a lot of trouble with a chromebook. I'm looking for a desktop PC but haven't found any good deals yet.
If they're going to be using a desk primarily, get the one of those intel nuc or something similar. if used items are OK, you can get HP 800 G4 with i5/i7 cpu with around 200-250. another option is "Mini pcs" from amazon , they all come with cpu, ram even Windows 10 pro for less than or around 250.
