You can still run the audio through here via eArc and run the hdmi through the tv for 2.1. That's what I do and it works great. No need to spend 600 dollars for a reciever with 2.1 pass through if you don't want to.
Picked up an open box "excellent" one from best buy which is an option as well. It was $163 ($180 with taxes). Might be an option for some of you wanting to save some extra money. My experience with best buy open box items has been positive. Thanks OP!

This is a decent deal for a basic Yamaha. Will work great for a 5.1 system and bluetooth and USB playback are nice to have. I always add a cheap Echo Dot for voice commands and streaming.

Just grabbed one for $153.00. I've been looking for a higher end Yamaha on the used market for over a year but haven't found anything. I'm currently running a 7.1 Onkyo (TX-NR676) but really miss my older Yamaha(RX-V579). Believe it or not, I've tried all the Costco models (Yamaha TSR-700, Denon S760H, Onkyo TX-NR 6050 and didn't care for any of them.

Would you like to share how the Yamaha is superior to the 2 other units mentioned?

Was debating about the Denon. Why did you not like it?

The Yamaha RX-V385 is not superior to any of the other models I mentioned. Matter of fact, it's considered lower end when it comes to power and features. I just prefer how the older style Yamaha's operate and sound in my Home theater systems. I've done a ton of receiver swapping but it would take way too long to describe what I like and don't like about each model. I can tell ya that I definitely like the way Yamaha and Onkyo sound with movie soundtracks compared to the three Denons I've owned which were the S750H, S760H and the S920W.

just FYI, this caps out at 4K @ 60hz, so not great for PC or console gaming if you have a 4K panel capable of 120hz refresh rates.
