Avoid any of these with walls that slant that much. With the slant, it means that the effective area people can actually move around in is much smaller and the rain will pour down through those slanted walls.

This is 2023. Screen canopies like these should no longer be made.

strong agree, this is deceiving, notice how crappy they are with their measurements "Dimensions: 15 x 13 ft. canopy for 41.6 Sq. ft. of shade." You might be deceived into thinking this is a HUGE canopy, but that first number is the footprint, the roof (canopy) size is just under 6 x 7 ft. aka small as hell. Also, unless the sun is directly overhead or behind you, the walls make in impossible to place your chairs in the shade because you cannot place the chairs "halfway under" the roof. Unless you live where flies and mosquitos are a serious concern, AND there's just 2 of you, AND the event you are taking this to is from 1130-1230, I would stay away from this hot garbage.

That's a bit sensationalist. The pyramidal shape is a stronger structure and definitely has a place.

Seconding what everyone else said, these dimensions are EXTREMELY misleading. You can see how small the actual roof is in the 4th photo where the models are setting it up. You're looking at a roof area of maybe 6'x6', not anywhere close to the 15'x13' that Coleman claims.

I agree that it is smaller on the top than bottom due to the slanted legs, however, as someone has mentioned, these do hold up better structurally from the wind.

There is a use for these as well, and i wouldnt necessarily be using this for only shade as much as for screening bugs outdoors. I could see this being useful over a table at a campsite that is partially shaded from nearby trees, or maybe if you just want some light shade from above for a mid day picnic.

Could be really useful against those yellow jackets in the mornings as well when camping.

Anyway, to each their own. Decent price for an instant up screen house, but for me personally i would probably have to pass since storage size would be an issue for me. Most instant up tents are huge when packed away, and not having my own garage makes it cumbersome to pack away

In this part of the country, the primary use case is for exactly this -- to put over the provided table at your campsite to able to eat and hang out without bugs and to keep out of the rain.

The problem is that with the slanted walls, you have little room to actually walk around the table to actually sit on a bench. I've been in screen tents like the one in the post and they are terrible. No room and you are sitting in the sun/rain.

The reason for the strong words is to warn people not experienced with these why not to get this. There are way better options than this today. This was the style 15-20 years ago that were made and since then, most people buy the ones with straighter walls.

Had a few of these when the sale $$$ was @ $60. Good for 2/3 people . or a small picnic table w/ screen on your back at the table. Last @ 2 seasons if up for the summer. I will pass at the New inflated DEAL price. But dees keep bugs off for the 2 seasons , if not a lot of people using.

Please note the product photos shown here and on the Amazon listing are incorrect and show the smaller 10'x10' model – the 15'x13' model is larger and hexagonal.

I have one, it's easy to set up and has help up well; it's been perfect as a bug free area to set up a few chairs or was a great play area for our toddler. It's quick enough to setup/teardown that we've used it more often in our backyard than I think we would use anything more complicated.

These work great for us at the beach. Quick up and down. Yea they're not huge but the give enough shade to take a snack break or a nap without getting fried.
