Hard pass on refurbished. You're rolling the dice that some return-processing chop-shop sends you a decent pair. It could look good but still smell like sweat, smoke, etc. One redeeming quality is that returns appear to be free.

I'd still hold off. 2nd gen Pros are around the corner. I'm sure more deals will come for 1st gens sooner than later.

This would be slick if they were new, or even Apple refurbished. But refurbished by anyone else just means used, but wiped off and minimally tested to make sure they (probably) work. I don't think this is a great price for used headphones.
