When she went to pay and the hair stylist had this look of dread on her face. She took the coupon and held her breath. My wife tipped her on the full amount of the haircut - gave her $20 and said keep the rest. The hairstylist was ecstatic and said to my wife the previous person who used the coupon only tipped her $2.
Lesson - don't be that person that just tips $2 and says well it is 25% of the bill. Remember, the hairstylist is cutting your hair and if they do a good job tip on the full price. They earned it.

Since every salon is independent, many won't accept coupons. So be sure to call ahead & ask your local GC first. And yes, you still need to tip based on the regular price!

My local great clips had the prepay $11 haircuts for Xmas last month and I ended up getting 10 of those that don't expire. I'll use coupons still just to get another free discounted haircut when there isn't a promotion. I'll normally just tip a $5 bill when I use a prepaid haircut.
