how could it be cheaper to install "soldered" RAM vs installing RAM that does not need to be soldered?

I feel this is the industry wanting your electronics to have a smaller life.

Also, when I do upgrade RAM I want two identical RAM sticks in each slot.

I ordered a refurbed robot vacuum from them and it came broken. They offered to possibly replace it, but I just went for the full refund. Lots of people in the thread on that had the same issue.

Would've been a great price if it comes with a RAM slot, an SSD slot, or both. It is a 16-inch laptop and there is plenty of space in it!

It's very thin. That's why it's soldiered. There is an ssd slot but only 1. You could replace the one installed with a bigger one if you want but the ram is non-upgradeable

It could make a decent Chrome OS / Linux laptop.

For windows, the RAM is too limiting.

The RAM is also shared with the iGPU. So probably closer to 7 GB available for the system.

Surprised to see a non-upgradable ram in 2023. The processor is good and the screen is good for the price point. This could have been a decent deal, but no dual channel memory makes this a bust. Also Woot might be an amazon company, but I find returning items very difficult.
