Will this stop a pitbull? I just need to protect against pitbulls. Humans I can throw money at. Pittys don't care at all.
I used to be a security officer and based on my research, the gel-based ones performed better in real life scenarios. They are more of a stream that splashes on contact. The sprays do not work well outside especially if there is any type of wind. It could actually blow back into your face or not go into the direction you're aiming.
You are also supposed to test them out occasionally to ensure they are working. Hopefully not on your friends or family. Lol.
Also says that it's flammable so if someone messes with you and you're also carrying a lighter then they are in for one hell of a time.
Uh... I don't get the part where NY is prohibited.
From a quick google search it looks like we have laws dictating what chemicals self defense sprays can contain. This stuff might not meet those requirements.

Lol, that means is it "too strong"? I'm considering buying one for mom and myself as well. We will have a criminal court coming up soon. The 24hrs surveillance cameras and doorbell cameras are not enough to make us feel safe.
UDAP is well known for their bear sprays but their pepper sprays (World's Hottest Formula version) is also highly rated. Not sure how effective is this regular version.
This is so strange to me because some pepper sprays are able to ship to the states prohibiting them via Amazon.
As for the pricing, I'm a Costco member but it's cheaper to get police-grade pepper spray individually for $9.99 reg price on amazon
This 4 container kit has two different sizes, so they're going to be at a different price, but for simplistic sake, if you just split the average on the four in this kit, that's $6.25 each

Oleoresin capsicum is comprised of several different capsaicinoids. There are five major capsaicinoids responsible for providing the pungency or hotness of a pepper. Capsaicin is the strongest or most important of the five. Therefore, it is the percentage of the total capsaicinoids, not the OC percentage that is most important.
Civilian and law enforcement pepper sprays range from 0.18% to 1.33% Major Capsaicinoids.
Bear Sprays range from 1.0% to 2.0% major capsaicinoids.
