I have the non-battery version. I can't imagine really playing more than a couple hours straight myself, but if you do, sure, $30 for a USB battery pack is a pretty good price. You can also use any USB battery pack you may already have though. Put it in your back pocket, or use a Velcro arm band like runners use. Loop the USB cable around the headset strap to hold in place and plug it in.

I have the non-battery version and I can highly recommend it. I added a battery with some Velcro tape, but yeah if you think you'll play enough to need the battery yes it's worth it. Also the battery should act as a counterweight making it feel more balanced on your head.
