Depends on which ones you're referring to. There are many variations of even the basic speedmaster; which crystal is used hesalite or sapphire; manual wind or automatic and many others.

You're probably thinking about the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. The Moonwatch and all its variations are based on the watches famously worn into space by American astronauts throughout the '60s.

The watches here are the Speedmaster Racing line, which were less popular and ultimately discontinued a couple years ago. Which is why you can now get them at a steep discount on gray market sites like Jomashop and Watchmaxx. Dealers dumped unsold inventory after discontinuation.

There's steady demand for the Moonwatches. So they rarely see discounts.

Last time I check, Jomashop wasn't eligible for citizen warranty as authorized dealer.

I am waiting for this too. Waiting for cheaper Omega Seamaster 1948 under 4k a Zenith El Primero under 7k, or JLC Master Control under 7k. Used car prices are already dropping quickly, I wonder how long before watch prices will drop significantly.

Overall watch prices have already been severely down since the pandemic began 3 years ago. In 2022, luxury watch values were down an average of 27%. If anything, I expect watch values to go up. I have an Omega Speedmaster that has gone up 40% in value since I bought it 6 years ago.
