I really wanted to like this model. Saw one in person and here are the main downsides in my opinion:

- No Thunderbolt ports
- 720p webcam
- Weak speakers

The size of the laptop is also comically large, and for the size I feel like a numpad could have been included. A lot of space getting wasted otherwise.

This is actually cheaper if you select the higher refresh rate screen.

Yes but you're going from 4k->1080p

Is the 6850m much better than the 3070ti?

I'm looking at the $1300 Lenovo.

Looking for something that would still be relevant in 5 years.

Funny, I been skipping the last few models because of the webcam and sheer disgust for 720p in the 2020's. Why take shortcuts like that?!?

Maybe because most gamers don't use webcams?

I got this lenovo for about the same price about 3 weeks ago, not sure which one is better 🤷🏻 ♂️ the lenovo is lighter to carry tho.

But if I have tobii eye tracking tech around it..... you really gonna put that bummy camera in the middle?!? I know plenty of people that use their webcam on their gaming laptop when streaming on the go..... it is a laptop after all.

This ugly monster is definitely faster.
You also get one soldered RAM.
The Zephyrus G14 feels like the better option if you're more interested in mobility. But I'd go for lenovo too because you also get a lot of additional workspace with that screen and because of the fingerprint sensor.
You also have an additional m.2 slot and more port selection.

Did they fix the issues in the AMD Advantage models? I read there were issues with Smart Shift but it was too technical for me to understand since I'm a noob. But the gist of it was that there were some issues with AMD drivers, I think, and you'd get less power to the GPU than advertised. I think the Legion 7 with the 6850 is rated at 140 but people were seeing it drop to 120ish and only briefly hitting 140W. I think the Alienware variant is 170, or something, but similar issues persisted where it wouldn't quite hit that mark.
