The type of person who would buy this monitor for $1300 already paid $1599 for it.

Pretty slick deal. I have two LG 27" 5K I bought each for $1000 from a company that went out of business. I would have paid the upcharge for better build quality, higher nits.

Those who dismiss this have never used a 5K. 5K doesn't sound like a lot but 4K is 8.4 million pixels, 5K is close to 15 million pixels. That 1K difference is staggering. 219 PPI on a 27" inch. Once you experience it, there is no going back. Not even a $800 42" OLED LG C2 would convert me over. That PPI makes a real difference for my use case ---- a developer working on code all day. The text is razor sharp. It is like looking at an iPad. You can code all day, 10 hours a day with no eye strain. That to me, makes the 5K resolution premium worth it.

Discounted but not a deal at all. Unless you absolutely have to have the Apple aesthetic, most people would be much better off buying one of those LG Ultrafine monitors with the Ergo stand.

I used one of these for a bit with my M1 Pro Macbook and the display is fine, but there's nothing special besides higher resolution. I preferred my LG monitor and returned this one. The integrated camera is atrocious for the ridiculous price. Also, you gotta pay extra for the "nano-texture" glass, which is basically just a matte finish. Also gotta pay extra for the height adjustable feature. 🙄🙄🙄

I generally like Apple products but this is pushing it.

I agree this is pushing it, but the LG Ultra fine monitors are dim trash. I returned it the same day.

I don't get headaches but my 27 inch monitor, and two years of using it, has made me want to go back to 24. I have a high end LG, one that LTT reviewed super well, and still like the smaller cheaper 24 AOC one I use alongside it.

That being said, I can see some people enjoying 27. I really really could never imagine going higher though. Especially if gaming like I do.
